NUTECH Gesellschaft für Lasertechnik und Materialprüfung mbH

NUTECH GmbH is a contract manufacturer specializing in laser material processing and a producer of laser processing optics, with over 30 years of experience. Founded in 1985 as a research institute close to industry, the company also houses an accredited materials testing laboratory on-site.

By consolidating expertise at our location, we generate synergies that have been a guarantee of our success both then and now. Whether it’s individual components or assemblies, prototypes or large series – NUTECH contract manufacturing brings your product idea to life.

As a full-service provider, we handle everything from material procurement to mechanical pre- and post-processing, fixture construction, assembly, storage, and shipping of the finished parts.

Quality Assurance for the Highest Standards

At NUTECH GmbH, each setup process on our laser welding systems is accompanied by an initial part release from our testing laboratory to ensure weld seam quality. The examinations range from macro sections and traditional destructive part tests to dimensional control. The extent and frequency of these checks are based on our customers’ inspection plans. Short paths enable constant and rapid quality control before and during ongoing production.

NUTECH is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949, and recognized as a laser welding specialist according to DIN EN ISO 3834. Additionally, we have successfully completed the qualification for DIN 2303.

The former analytical and testing center of NUTECH has now been spun off into a subsidiary, materia services GmbH. This company continues to play a significant role in quality assurance. Accredited according to DIN EN ISO 17025 and with a team of 16 highly qualified employees, materia services is one of the largest testing laboratories in Northern Germany. Numerous methods for destructive and non-destructive material testing, material analytics, from spark spectrometry and metallography/structure analysis to scanning electron microscopy, are available daily for NUTECH.

Our Goals for Quality Assurance

  • Early Detection of Potential Errors
  • Process Assurance
  • Creation of Quality Documentation

…all within the bounds of technical and economic feasibility.

In addition to traditional measurement tools for assessing the dimensional accuracy of purchased or provided components, we operate a 3D coordinate measuring machine with a measurement accuracy of ±5 µm. The quality of individual parts determines the dimensional accuracy of the welded assembly. Upon request, we can also handle the incoming inspection of provided components from our customers or their subcontractors.

For weld seam control during ongoing production, we use:

  • Plasma Sensors for Online Monitoring

  • Offline Process Monitoring as per agreed inspection plans

  • Component Inspections for pressure tightness, etc.

Methodologically, quality assurance is carried out through the use of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), initial sample inspections according to VDA standards, and the application of production, control, and inspection plans.

Our Machinery Park

Systems for Lasee material processing

NUTECH boasts a variety of systems for laser material processing, tailored to different applications. With a wide range of processing options and a variety of compatible materials, we offer precision solutions for diverse industries such as automotive, electronics, and aerospace. Our dedicated team of experienced technicians continuously monitors and optimizes the use of our systems to ensure the highest quality and efficiency. At our Laser Center, we rely on innovative technologies to shape the future of precise laser material processing.

Our machinery park consists of state-of-the-art systems for laser manufacturing, quality assurance, and pre- and post-processing. In contract and large-series production, we use both CO2 and solid-state lasers with a maximum laser power of up to 8 kW. A total of 10 laser sources (some redundantly configured) are used daily. For the processing of large components, we have expanded our machinery park with a 6-axis robotic system from Reis equipped with an 8kW fiber laser from IPG. For quality assurance, we operate a 3D coordinate measuring machine in addition to conventional measuring instruments.

Thus, NUTECH combines innovative technologies and precision machinery to master the most complex challenges in laser material processing.
